October 15, 2022, 88, Goldsboro –

Naomi Gray Joyner Cole, age 88, passed away Saturday evening at her home.  Born in Wayne County, NC, she was the daughter of the late John and Agatha Massey Joyner and the wife of the late George Lloyd Cole.  A longtime member of Grace Baptist Church, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 7:00 pm with Rev. Stuart Coffman officiating in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The family will greet friends Tuesday evening following the service at the funeral home. A committal service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Cole is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis & Sandra Cole of Princeton; two brothers, Johnny Joyner & wife, Sandra, Ronnie Joyner & wife, Faye; two sisters, Hazel Hall and Lucille Herring; grandchildren, Kimberly Strickland & husband, Jason, Adam Cole & wife, Andrea; great-grandchildren, Raegan Cole, Ryleigh Cole, and Addyson Cole; special caregiver, Linda Bailey; many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jennifer Cole.
