Goldsboro Police Department was dispatched Sunday morning after 911 received a call. The call received at approximately 8:25 a.m., was about a welfare check. 

When officers arrived, they observed that the unknown victim was unresponsive and requested EMS. Wayne County EMS responded and pronounced the victim deceased.

The decedent was transported to the UNC Health Wayne morgue per the on call medical examiner’s request. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
