Debra “Debby” Gardner Jones passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at UNC Wayne Hospital. She was born in Pasquotank County to the late Arthur Frank Gardner, Jr. and Betty Fleeman Gardner on September 7, 1954.

With a love of laughter and humor to match, Debby enjoyed making others smile. She was a jokester and often joked at her own expense. She was direct and straightforward in thinking and sharing opinions. Her generosity overflowed on friends and family alike. Debby lived life large and kept a close circle of friends.

Debby had an in-depth knowledge of cars. She could identify them “on the spot” and could repair just about anything. Debby could take apart an engine or body and put it back together perfectly.

A service of love and remembrance will be held by the graveside on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 3 p.m. at Wiley Rouse Cemetery in Seven Springs, with visitation following.

Debby is survived by her brother, Steven Gardner; sister-in-law and best friend, Sandy Moore Gardner; niece, Stacy G. Pobanz, and husband, Chris; niece, Megan G. Arispe, and husband, Jason; great-nephews, Jonas and Jude Pobanz, and David and Levy Arispe; great-niece, Lily Arispe; “extended family”, Ann Rouse Price and Donna and Joey Rouse; and special friends, Maria Price and Shelton Sutton.
