Walter Dennis Wheeler

September 27, 2022, 84, Goldsboro –

Walter Dennis Wheeler, 84, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at his home. Dennis was born in Johnston County to the late Hubert and Helen Bridgers Wheeler on March 28, 1938. He married the love of his life, Doris Holland Wheeler, on December 25, 1959. This upcoming Christmas, they would have celebrated 63 years of marriage. Their love carried them through raising a family and creating a home.

Dennis was a hard worker and enjoyed having Doris by his side. Dennis and Doris started Goldsboro Appliance Service in Goldsboro before he began a 28-year career with Civil Service at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. When he wasn’t working, he loved to be out on the water fishing or having fun listening to his favorite Blue Grass music. He was a member of the Kenly Masonic Lodge #257 A.F & A.M.

Dennis worshiped and served his Lord and Savior at Stoney Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church, where he was a member for most of his life. At Stoney Creek, he was also an active member of the Ambassador Sunday School Class.
