Nancy Hawley Lee, 75, exchanged the embraces of her family for the embrace of her loving Lord on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. Nancy was born in Wayne County to the late Gurnie and Louise Rowe Hawley on February 12, 1947. No doubt the receiving line in heaven was lengthy, led first by her Savior and followed immediately by her beloved son, Chad Lee.
The family was Nancy’s ultimate joy. Married to Jesse for 58 years, the two raised their children in a Christian home teaching love, respect, and the value of hard work. When grandchildren came along, Nancy added the title of “Grandma” to her list of endearments as her heart filled with even more love to share. Each held a special place in her life, and she was sure to attend every event in which they participated.
A faith that was unbreakable, Nancy worshiped with her family at Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Each member of the congregation was considered an extension of her family, as she loved them as her own.
As the customer service representative for Branch Banking and Trust Company, Nancy spent over 33 years in humble service to each of her clients. No matter the need, Nancy was constantly available; willing to stop whatever she was doing to offer assistance to her customers. Over the years, customers became friends and were treated as family.
No matter the occasion, Nancy was always ready to travel with Jesse. Whether a road trip to the mountains, beach, or any other great destination, Nancy always enjoyed the opportunity to go.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 3, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service of love and remembrance will be held in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, with Rev. John Massengill officiating. Committal will follow at the Edgerton Family Cemetery near Nahunta Fire Department.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Jesse Norman Lee; daughter, Teresa Lee and husband, Chris; son, Kevin Lee and wife, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Paige Lipcsak and husband, Travis, Leah Garris, Kody Lee, Raegan Lee and Jarrett Lee; a great-grandson, Nathan Lipcsak; and sisters, Carol Reedy and Linda Hawley.
