Matthew Phillip Fordham-Crawford, 24, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. Born and raised in Wayne County, Matthew was the son of Jeffrey Fordham and Jo Ann Crawford.

Those who knew Matthew knew that he was passionate about the outdoors and the conservation of the earth. He spent many hours of his life dedicated to conservation, recycling, and spending time outside. Matthew also loved antiques. He had an eye for any and everything. Matthew loved to take his picks apart, only to find himself on another project before finishing the last. He will forever be remembered as a fun-loving, carefree friend to all.

A service to celebrate Matthew’s life will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M., as well as following the service.

In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by his sisters, Amber Broughton and husband, Dan, Emily Sasser and husband, Lance, and Anna Vincent and husband, Kenneth; step-mother, Sue T. Fordham, step-brother, Sam Myers and wife, Morgan; maternal grandmother, Linda Weeks; and nieces and nephews, Ty, Aidan, Frankie Mae, Keith, and Sawyer. Matthew is also survived by his special canine friend, Nugget.

Matthew is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Marion Fordham and Esther Fordham; and maternal grandfather, Charles Weeks.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sending perennials, fruit trees, or berry bushes as these will be used to create a special memorial garden in memory of Matthew. Though Matthew is no longer with us here on Earth, his impact will forever be rooted deep in nature and in our hearts.
