Jeremy Scott Russell, 37, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh after a long battle with kidney disease. Jeremy was born in Alexandria, Louisiana to Myles and Robin Russell on June 11, 1985. His curiosity for life opened doors for him to develop his creativity. He had a vision for seeing things others missed.

You could find Jeremy at the AMF Boulevard Lanes in Goldsboro on a regular basis. He not only enjoyed the fellowship but was a good bowler as well. He had a passion for helping young people. This was evident in his coaching of football and baseball at Greenwood Middle School. Jeremy never grew tired of watching the players grow and develop in life and in sports. He was a mentor to more than he ever realized.

Of all his gifts and experiences, he treasured being a father the most. His children were a bright light when all else seemed to dim. While his illness may have slowed him down, his heart for those he loved only grew.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 25, 2022, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate his life at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel.

Jeremy is survived by his daughters, Elaina Russell and Elizabeth Russell; step-son, Joseph Dallas Vernatt; parents, Myles and Robin Russell; girlfriend, Samantha Harlow; sister, Megan (Russell) Britt; nephews, Aaron Logan and Holden Britt; and niece, Riley Britt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to the National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd St. New York, NY 10016.
