Debra “Dee” Sauls Miller

August 27, 2022, 64, Goldsboro –

Debra “Dee” Sauls Miller, 64, received her wings Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center after a long battle, surrounded by her family. Born in Wayne County on August 20, 1958, she was daughter to the late William Ray Sauls and Eunice Kearney Sauls.

Dee will always be remembered as someone who had a huge heart. She had never met a stranger that she would not welcome into her life, no matter who you were. She touched so many and will not be forgotten. She was tough as nails and did not back down to any challenge she faced. She worked hard to provide for her children. She never gave up!

She loved all her family. Especially her children Roger, Mikie and Lisa. She was so proud when she found out that she was a grandmother to Preston, Sydney, McKinzie, Jack, Hannah, Kasey, and Sierra. She always said that they were all her heart. She loved her brother Tom who had always had her back. She loved her mother Eunice who taught her to fight no matter what.

Dee was loved by so many. She was loved the most by her aunts Jo Ann, Jean, Linnie, and Bren. They have been by her side no matter the battle. They were her rock and they helped make sure that she got through whatever she may have faced. Dee finally found true love with her husband Jack. He showed her what true love was and she missed him dearly.

Dee is survived by her sons, Roger Sullivan and wife, Christy of Eureka, Michael “Mikie” Ginn Jr and wife, Lindsey of Eureka; daughter, Lisa Wheeler of Climax; grandchildren, Preston, Sydney, McKinzie, Jack, Sierra, Hannah, and Kasey; brother, Tom Sauls and wife, Mary Jo of Eureka; aunts, Jo Ann Tillman, Jean Bartlett, Linda Honrine and husband Ed, Bren Sauls and husband Linwood; nephew, Brandon Sauls; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Dee was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Miller; her son Mark Allen Sullivan and by her parents.

A service to celebrate Dee’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at the Eureka Cemetery.
