Juvenile Charged with Multiple Convenience Store Break-Ins

A 16-year-old male juvenile was charged via juvenile petition for multiple crimes.

According to the Goldsboro Police Department, four separate cases of breaking and entering beginning in December 2020 through June of 2021 have resulted in a suspect being charged.  The juvenile was fifteen at the time of the crimes.

On Saturday, December 5, 2020, at 1:57 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department’s Uniformed Patrol “D” Shift responded to the S&N Quick Mart, located at 1609 N. William Street, in reference to a burglar alarm. Upon arrival, officers found the front glass entry door to the business shattered. During the ensuing investigation, it was discovered that three suspects had broken and entered the business, stealing the cash register and ransacking the store in the process.

The suspect is charged with one count each of Felonious Breaking and/or Entering, Felonious Larceny pursuant to Felonious Breaking and/or Entering, Felony Possession of Stolen Property, Conspiracy to Commit B&E, Conspiracy to Commit Felonious Larceny, Injury to Real Property, and Conspiracy to Commit Injury to Real Property.

On Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 2:42 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department’s Uniformed Patrol “B” Shift again responded to a breaking and entering at the S&N Quick Mart, where an unknown individual had shattered a front window in the store and entered the business. The subject attempted to steal cash from the register, but when they found it empty, they fled the scene.

For this crime and the remaining cases, the suspect was charged with one count each of Felonious Breaking and/or Entering, Attempted Felonious Larceny, and Injury to Real Property for each crime.

On Monday, June 21, 2021, at 5:24 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department’s Uniformed Patrol “C” Shift responded to a burglar alarm, again at the S&N Quick Mart, where an unknown suspect had shattered a front store window and gained entry through the same. After again attempting to steal cash from the register, which proved empty, and attempting to steal some type of tobacco product from the shelf, the suspect fled the area.

On Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at 5:55 a.m., “C” Shift officers responded to a burglar alarm at the Safeway Convenience Mart, located at 1901-B N. William Street. Upon arrival, they found the front glass entry door to the business shattered, but not enough for anyone to gain entry. Video surveillance footage later revealed that the suspect was scared off by the alarm and fled on foot before gaining entry to the business. After subsequent investigations were completed by the Goldsboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, a juvenile suspect was developed. The same suspect was the offender in all four of the aforementioned break-ins.
