Pamela Barnette Turpin

August 6, 2022, 73, Goldsboro –

Pamela Barnette Turpin, 73, departed this life to enjoy eternity with the Saints in Heaven on August 6, 2022. Pam was born in Wilson County to the late Jesse Preston Barnette, Sr. and Jean Gurley Barnette on June 2, 1949. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jesse Preston “Butch” Barnette, Jr.

A valued employee of Wayne Radiology, Pam served the many patients that came through the doors with genuine care and affection until her retirement.

Always dressed to the nines, Pam never left home without looking her best. Whether headed to work or out for shopping—her favorite excursion, you could count on Pam’s attire matching her beautiful personality and spirit.

Around the home, you would often find Pam with a good book in hand or listening to the gospel sounds of Bill Gaither and Friends. Above all else, any activity in the presence of her family was Pam’s favorite. She cherished every moment spent with those she loved most.

A long-time member of Pikes Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church, Pam enjoyed worshiping her Lord alongside her family and church family.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Pikes Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church followed by a service to celebrate Pam’s life at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Charles Boyd and Pastor Ferrell Hardison officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2022 in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Pam is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ron Turpin; children, Christopher Bohler and wife, Erin, Rhonda Bundy and husband, Buddy, and Jason Ronald “Jay” Turpin, Jr. and wife, Serena; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Kay Bailey and husband, Joseph and Barbara Reinoehl; and her nieces and nephews she loved very much.
