The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will be closing US-117 North from NC-55 in Mount Olive through Genoa Road tomorrow, Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 10:45 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The closure will remain in place during Sergeant Matthew Fishman’s funeral service to allow first responders the opportunity to line US-117 North for the procession. US-117 South will remain open to traffic.

NCDOT will have electronic message boards and detour signage informing drivers of the closure. All traffic will exit US-117 northbound onto NC-55 in Mount Olive, turn right onto NC-55, left onto US-117 Alternate, right onto Outlaw Road, left onto Old Mount Olive Highway, then back to US-117 at Mar-Mac.
