July 30, 2022, 80, Goldsboro –

In the evening hours of July 30, 2022 , with her loving family at her side,  Barbara Ellen Clay Burchett, passed away at the age of 80, at the Kitty Askins Hospice  Center in Goldsboro, NC.   Barbara was born in Accoville, WV to the late Romey & Corby Brickles Clay.  Barbara was a Retired CNA worked in the private setting.

Among her survivors are her daughters LaBecka Shaffer (Gregory) of  King, NC,  Lawanna Burchett (Misti Howell) Of Pikeville, NC, Brothers Timmy Clay, Billy Gene Clay both of WV. Sister Millie Williams of  WV.  Seven Grandchildren- Ruben (Danny) Madrigal (Ginger), Heather (Nikki) Burchett ( Jeff), James Benji Madrigal (Cortnie), Jimmy Burchett III, Jamie Burchett, Catrina Burchett, Great Grandchildren- Julianna , DJ, Anthony, Kayla, Juan, Selena, Jayden, Maddie, Leiland, Paylin, Logan, Brayden, Jackson, Landon

 In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband James Daniel Burchett, her son James Daniel Burchett Jr., siblings- Gladys O’Neal, Thomas Clay & Romey B. Clay Jr. and Granddaughter Candice Burchett 

On Tuesday Evening August 2, 2022 from 6:00pm – 8:00 PM the family will greet friends and family at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro,
