Suspect Captured After June Shooting of Two

 On 6-18-2022, Goldsboro Police Department officers responded to a shooting that occurred in the 700 block of N George Street. Two victims, a 42-year-old female and a 34-year-old male, were found suffering from gunshot wounds and were transported to Wayne UNC Health by EMS. The female victim had been located on the front porch of 705 N George Street. The male’s location at the time of the shooting was unknown.

The Goldsboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene. The 34-year-old victim was treated at Wayne UNC Health and was later discharged. The 42-year-old victim was transferred to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC. 

 **UPDATE**

On 6-21-22, after further investigation by the Goldsboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, a suspect was developed, and warrants were secured on Quandre Weeks for two counts of attempted first-degree murder, and one count discharging a firearm into occupied property. 

On 7-29-22,  Mr. Weeks was arrested at 228 Beaver Drive in Dudley, NC, by deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team with the assistance of officers from the Goldsboro Police Department VICE Unit. Mr. Weeks was served the outstanding warrant and confined to the Wayne County Jail without bond. His first appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Gladys Simmons, the resident of 228 Beaver Drive in Dudley, was charged in connection with Mr. Weeks’ attempts to elude authorities and avoid arrest. Ms. Simmons was charged with one count of Harboring a Fugitive and was taken before a Wayne County criminal magistrate, where she was subsequently placed into the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 secured bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 1. 

The victims, Gregory McDuffie and Felicia Davis, have been released from the hospital and are at their respective homes recovering from their injuries.
