Sandra Sue Lakey “Sandi” Boston

July 26, 2022, 75, Goldsboro –

Sandra Sue Lakey “Sandi” Boston, 75, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Sandi was born in El Paso, Texas on August 27, 1946 to the late Everett and Alice Lakey.

Upon completion of cosmetology school, Sandi managed a salon in California. She tirelessly served her clients for many years. Clients quickly became friends, and much as in her daily life with family, Sandi put her customers’ needs before her own. Sandi later went to work with the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier before retirement.

Sandi and her family worshipped with the congregation at The Lord’s Vineyard Church.

Sandi loved traveling with her friends and family, no matter the destination. She was an outstanding cook and relished in time spent around her table with those she loved.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at The Lord’s Vineyard Church, 3651 Salem Church Road, Goldsboro, followed by a service celebrating Sandi’s life at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Interment will follow the service in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Sandi is survived by her children, Sandra “Sandy” Boston Cook and special friend, Hank of Sylvan Beach, NY, Jim Snowden and wife Tammy of Pikeville, and Wendi Scobey of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Jessica Edmister (Matthew), Stephanie Bennett, Sarah Neider (Joe), Ashley McKinley (Steven), Michael Hudson (Hannah), Jimmy Bundy (Christina), Austin Snowden (Taylor), and twelve great-grandchildren, Alice, Summer, Cole, Lexa, Nicole, Christopher Lee, Ani Katherine, Owen James, Ayden John, Isabelle, Adaleigh, and Ayden James. She is also survived by her step-sister, Peggy Sylva of New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews, she loved very much.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Arthur Leroy Boston; and brothers, Carl and Jimmy.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Cures for the Colors, SMOC, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, NC 27534.
