Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of northern Wayne, southeastern Wilson and southeastern Johnston Counties through 5:30 PM At 4:48 PM, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 9 miles northeast of Fremont to 10 miles southeast of Smithfield. Movement was east at 30 mph. The radar indicated wind gusts up to 50 mph, heavy rain, and dangerous cloud to ground lightning.
