Wayne County Road Getting Improved Drainage

The state Transportation Department will replace crossline pipes at four locations on Rosewood Road beginning Monday.

The four sites are between Oakland Church Road and N.C. 581 west of Goldsboro. The road will be closed to thru traffic until all four pipes are replaced. The road is expected to reopen by July 22, weather permitting.

The detour will take motorists down Oakland Church, Ebenezer Church and Charlie Braswell roads.

The pipes are being replaced, because they are aging and beginning to fail. The new pipes will improve drainage along Rosewood Road.

People should approach the work zone cautiously and plan for a longer commute.
