James Kermit Holland, better known to all as Jim Holland, resident of the Beautancus area near Mount Olive, passed away Friday evening, July 8, 2022, at his home with his loved ones close at hand. He was 50 years old.

Jim graduated from North Duplin High School in 1989 and received certification from James Sprunt Community College in truck driving and also in swine management. He was employed with Smithfield Foods as a truck driver. An all-around country boy, Jim enjoyed riding horses and fishing. Like an old soul, he enjoyed many friendships, some of folks his own age and younger, and many in the older age category.

A Memorial Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held Saturday, July 16, at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home with visitation to follow the service. Family and friends are also being received at the home of Kermit and Gail Holland. Flowers are welcome, or memorial gifts may be made to Bear Marsh Baptist Church, 1649 Beautancus Road, Mount Olive NC 28365.

Jim is survived by his wife of nine years, and his friend of eleven, Kelli Topping Holland, of the home; a daughter, Haley Lynn Holland of the home; a son, William Cody Ratcliff of Virginia; his father and step-mother, Kermit and Gail S. Holland of Mount Olive; a sister, Joy Holland of Mount Olive; a brother, Jeremy Best and his wife, Joy, of Mount Olive; three nieces, Amithy Harris, Meredith Best, and Ivy Best, all of Mount Olive; and a nephew, Austin Best of Mount Olive.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Sutton Holland; a brother, Robert Austin Best; and his grandparents, Foster and Marie Holland, and Leroy and Doris Ann Quinn.
