Linda Kay Rouse Sutton, at the age of 79, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022 while at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville.

Linda was a resident of the Pleasant Grove community, Albertson, N.C. She was a member of Alum Springs Missionary Baptist Church and the Pleasant Grove Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Linda was a retired health care technician with Cherry Hospital.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, E. H. Sutton; their son, Ernest Herman “Ernie” Sutton II; her parents, Josiah Rouse, Jr. and Lillian Outlaw Rouse; her brother, Frederick A. “Bud” Rouse; and her sister, Jo Anne Rouse Herring and her husband, Thurman.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Jennifer Sutton of the home; a sister-in-law, Cathy P. Rouse, of Albertson; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Tommy and Mary Linda Sutton of Mount Olive, and Harrell and Lois Thigpen of Kinston; and several nephews and nieces from both the Rouse and Sutton families.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 9, beginning at 1 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Jonathan Altman. In Maplewood Cemetery, Mount Olive, is where her remains will rest, with those of her beloved husband, son, parents, brother, and sister, and niece.
