July 4, 2022, 58, Mount Olive –
It was during the evening dinner hour of Independence Day, 2022, that Darrell Lee Jones without warning, suddenly passed from this life to behold the presence of his Lord and Savior. His wife and daughter were with him at the time of his departure.
Mr. Jones, 58, a resident of Mount Olive, was a native of Kinston. With a keen sense for business, he had obtained an associates degree in computer graphics, and later a bachelor degree in finance from East Carolina University. Darrell had been an insurance agent from which he had recently retired. He worshiped his God at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro.
Funeral services to worship God and to give thanks for the life of Darrell Jones will be Sunday, July 10, at 3 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, and will be officiated by the Rev. Bill Rose. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive. The family will receive friends at the funeral home during the hour before the service. Preceded in death by his parents, Johnny G. Jones and Barbara Leigh Murray Jones, Darrell is survived by his wife, Dr. Kimberly Burch Jones, and a daughter, Caroline Elizabeth Jones, both of the home; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bobby and Bobbie Burch of Mount Olive; a sister, Debbi Jones, a niece, Agatha Lungi, and a nephew, Nicholas Lungi, all of Kinston; and several cousins and other loved ones.
