Nearly 400 Duke Progress Energy customers in the Goldsboro area are without power after a line of severe thunderstorms rolled through Wayne County early Friday evening.

The power company released the following statement:

“The severe line of storms that passed through the Carolinas this evening took down numerous trees, powerlines and poles. Crews will be working through the night to make repairs and further assess damage. The current estimated times of restoration, where available, reflect the latest time we expect to have all service back in your area. We will provide updated restoration estimates as the work progresses. Thank you for your patience.”
