Pamela Maddox Lane

Pamela Maddox Lane

June 10, 2022, 65, La Grange –

Pamela Maddox Lane, 65, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 at ECU Health Medical Center. Pam was born in Lee County to the late Jack Ward Maddox and Doris Davis Maddox on December 16, 1956.

Meeting her husband, Micky, before high school, the two became high school sweethearts at Eastern Wayne High School and went on to live out a loving marriage of nearly 47 years. A necessity of joining the Lane family, Pam had a sense of humor that knew no bounds. She could find humor and joy in just about any situation, and helped spread her joy in conversation with her loved ones.

Pam and Micky raised their daughters, Leslie and Laura, in a loving home with close ties to extended family. A love of travel took them to various destinations with Disney World being their favorite of all. Even after the children were grown and no longer lived at home, Pam made sure to keep up with them through phone calls at least once every day.

Spending time with a good novel by Nicholas Sparks or John Grisham was top on Pam’s list for an enjoyable day. With a crime show playing on the television and the companionship of her dogs, Pam had everything she needed. When the family recently moved back to La Grange, Pam took care of getting the inside of the house in order while Micky worked outside. Pam’s watchful eye and concern for her love was often seen as she watched out the window to ensure Micky’s safety.

Christmas was a special time of year for Pam, as she enjoyed the opportunity to decorate her home and spend time with family. When basketball season came along, you could bet on Pam sitting on her couch cheering on her beloved Tar Heels.

A service to remember Pam’s life will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Rouse Funeral Home with Rev. Tony McLamb officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Pam is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years, Micky Lane; children, Leslie D. Lane and Laura K. Lane; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherry Webb and husband, Scott, Wanda Elmore and husband, Reid, and Crystal Narron and husband, Joseph; brother-in-law, Jeff Lane and wife, Janet; sister-in-law, Sandra Wiggins and husband, Kenny; nieces and nephews, Scarlett, Travis, Matthew, Brittany, Amanda, and Emma; and her faithful canine companions, Abby and Molly.
