Linda Walston Wells

Linda Walston Wells

June 10, 2022, 79, Goldsboro –

Linda Walston Wells, 79, fell asleep on this earth to awaken in the arms of Jesus on Friday, June 10, 2022, while in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love and warm embraces of her family. Linda was born in Columbia, SC to the late Clifton and Ethel Roof on October 6, 1942. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Walston, Sr.

With a calling to serve others, Linda earned a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and worked for over 40 years in the health care system as a Registered Nurse. Her compassion for others was great and her spirit was both genuine and generous.

Linda’s enthusiasm to help others allowed her the opportunity to serve as a director for HOSA. This allowed her the opportunity to travel across the United States to help future health professionals. Following retirement, Linda continued to work as a teacher with Wayne County Public Schools.

Wanting everything to be just right, Linda was a perfectionist when it came to her home, her yard, and her appearance. Her polished appearance was a great representation of the contentment she found in organization and cleanliness.

Possessing a deep faith, Linda was a member of Rosewood First Baptist Church in Goldsboro. Her love for the Lord was a common point of conversation as Linda shared life with her family. Aware of the gift of love received through Christ Jesus, Linda went on to share that love with others through constant prayer and words of encouragement.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held by the graveside at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton.

Left to cherish Linda’s memory is her husband and caregiver, Gregory Wells; son, William Walston, Jr. of Kinston; daughter, Tracy Walston Daniel and husband, Dan of Charleston, SC; two grandchildren, Tracy Elizabeth Bailey and George Gordon Bailey IV; and brother, Lonnie Roof of Nags Head. She is also survived by her step-daughter, Amelia Williamson and step-son, Gregory Thomas Wells, Jr.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in her memory to Rosewood First Baptist Church, 562 Hwy. 581 South, Goldsboro, NC 27530 or to Community Home Care and Hospice, 2309 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Online condolences may be shared with her family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
