William H. Waters

William H. Waters

May 31, 2022, 67, Goldsboro –

Our beloved brother and uncle, William H. Waters, “Bill”, went to be with his Lord on May 31, 2022. He joins his wife, Cathy Hobbs Waters; and his parents, Richard and Betty Waters in their heavenly home.

Bill was born on September 21, 1954, in St. John’s, Newfoundland. As a child of a military parent, he traveled throughout the country. He was a proud graduate and support of the University of Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Bill will never be forgotten by his sister Patsy Long, and brother-in-law, Tom Long; niece, Erin Michael and husband Matt; nephews, Braden Long and wife Nina, and Taylor Long and wife Sarah; great-niece, Hannah Michael; and great-nephews, Brooks, Elliott, and Callan Long.

Although Bill battled MS most of his life, his life was not defined by it. He lived his life as full as he possibly could. He loved all UNC sports and his beloved Atlanta Braves. He always was concerned and thoughtful of everyone he came into contact with. He loved his family, his wife’s family, and his Newfoundland family. He faithfully called his mother-in-law, Jean Hobbs, to talk and “check-in”. He never forgot a birthday or special event and wanted to send a gift or card. He was kind and thoughtful to everyone.

We will never forget Bill, how much he loved life – how he fought like a warrior to live despite all his physical challenges. But most importantly, how his faith sustained him until the end.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the Walker Family Cemetery with Pastor Brad Mitchell officiating.

2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I kept the faith.”
