Sherry Greene, 61, of Pikeville passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 19, 2022.

Sherry or Aunt Sher-Sher as she was known to her nieces and nephews was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Richlands, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Kristy Greene of Pikeville and the late Albert Greene.

Sherry loved reading and could always be found with a book or her beloved kindle in her hands. She was a great comfort and side kick to her mom after her dad’s passing.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 23, 2022 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Sherry’s life at 2:00 p.m. in chapel with Chaplain Bill Boyd officiating. Interment will be in the Pikeville Cemetery.

Sherry is survived by her mother, Kristy Greene, two sisters and brother-in-law, Denise Meekins of Jacksonville and Melissa and Raul Vera of Pikeville. As well as her 5 beloved nieces and nephews, Matthew Meekins of Jacksonville, Mason Leake of Jacksonville, Maddie Vera-Colon and husband, Katsuya of Pasedena, CA, Mikaela Vera of Greensboro and Gracie Vera of Pikeville.

In addition to her father, Sherry was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Greene Donah.
