The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was alerted on May 24, 2022 to an email sent to Dillard Middle School threatening to harm students and staff. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office immediately began an investigation with the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

As a result of the investigation conducted by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, a 12 year old Wayne County juvenile was arrested and charged on May 24, 2022 with two counts of “Making a False Report Concerning Mass Violence on Educational Property.” He was released to his parent.

At no time were the students and staff in any danger due to these threats being made.
