Sherman Randolph Rash

Sherman Randolph Rash, 83, passed away on Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. He was the son of the late Sherman and Leava C. Rash, and was the husband of Olivia Rash. Mr. Rash was a retired United States Air Force veteran. He loved to fly and had his own airplane. He enjoyed trips to the mountains or the beach and tinkering with things. Mr. Rash was a very compassionate man and would help anyone.

A service of love and remembrance will be held on Saturday in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Michael Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Emmaus Baptist Church cemetery.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Beverley and husband, Michael Edwards of Pawhatan, VA, siblings, Frank Rash, Earl Rash and, wife, Ellen, Gary Rash and wife, Janet, Brian Rash and wife, Lisa, Ronnie Rash and wife, Nancy, Betty Ann Jones, Henrietta Smith and husband, James, and Rebecca Brooks and husband, Jerry Brooks; stepchildren, Linwood Jernigan, Vanessa Jernigan, Cindy Jernigan, and Suzanne Barnes; grandchildren, Anna, Sophia, and Laura Edwards; step grandchildren, Rachel, Joshua, and Austin Jernigan, James and Joseph Fowler, Rachel, Rome, and Bodie Barnes; and step great grandchildren, Ellaina, Jackson, and Miles Jernigan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marl Rash and 3 sisters.
