Randolph William Edwards or “Doodle”, as his friends and family knew him, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the age of 80. Randolph was born in Wayne County to the late Grover and Eva Edwards on February 14, 1943. In addition to his parents, Doodle was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Janice Newell Edwards; brothers, Buddy Edwards, Rayford Edwards and JayBird Edwards; and sister, Avis Britt.

Randolph had a good career with Mozingo’s Car Lot in Goldsboro for 22 years and the sanitation department with the City of Goldsboro for 37 years. There wasn’t a whole lot that Randolph couldn’t do and he always enjoyed the challenge.

Randolph had a quick wit and a comeback for everything. His sense of humor put a smile on everyone’s face. Randolph never took himself too seriously. He was a good husband, a great father and had a generous heart. Randolph provided a wonderful home for his family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 6:00 -7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Randolph’s life at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022 in Wayne Memorial Park.

Randolph is survived by his son, Jimmy Edwards and his friend Keith of Goldsboro; and niece, Amanda Long of Grantham.
