Michael Wayne Baker, 60, of Pikeville, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Michael was born in Johnston County on April 16, 1962 to the late Jerry Wayne Baker and Mildred “Mickey” Odom Baker.

Michael is survived by his wife, Debbie Rains Baker of Pikeville; Sons, Chad Baker and wife Melissa of Clayton, Dillon Lassiter and wife Angela of Kenly, Dusty Lassiter of Pikeville; daughters, Tara Gayle Baker of Clayton, Tana Bailey and husband Stephen of Zebulon, Traci Rains Baker of Pikeville, Isabella Coker of Pikeville; mother-in-law, Dalphine Rains; grandchildren, Brinley Marie Hill, Oliver Wayne Bailey, Sofia Lassiter; brother, Craig Baker and wife Christy of Princeton; sister, Melody Baker of Princeton; fur baby, Soldier; fur grandbabies, Dash, Doug, Biggie, and several other family and friends.

Michael was a loving husband, daddy, granddaddy, brother, and friend. He enjoyed fishing and football, coaching little league, and watching train videos in his spare time. He was a Christian man and loved his faith in God. He spent lots of time studying the bible. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed but precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

The funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel with Reverend Linda Lassiter officiating. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations in Princeton. A private burial will be held in the Princeton Cemetery.
