United Way of Wayne County recognized top volunteers during National Volunteer Week, April 17-23, 2022. At the beginning of the year, the organization received nominations for the Governor’s Volunteer Service Award given annually to individuals, groups or businesses who have made outstanding contributions to their communities.

The Governor’s Volunteer Service Award recipients are Isaac Carreno, Mark Colebrook, Kenneth Coley, Donna Countryman, Johnnie Mae Flowers, the Martin Family, and Evangelina Severtson. The Governor’s Medallion Award recipient for Wayne County is Bronwyn Atzenhofer-Hinson.
