April 8, 2022, 84, Rosewood –

Joyce Waters Newcomb, 84, of Rosewood, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022 at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick-Lower Cape Fear LifeCare surrounded by her family. Joyce was born in Wayne County on September 19, 1937 to the late Joe Waters and Hester Lee Langley Waters.

In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, James William Newcomb; brother, Marvin Waters, and sister, Rachel Holland.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Pamela N. Tyner and husband Wayne of Bolivia; son, Jeffrey A. Newcomb and wife Melissa of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Natalie Tyner, Amber Copeland and husband Stephen, Holli DelaCourt and husband Mason, Alan Newcomb and wife Ashley, Adam Newcomb; great-grandchildren, Brayden Sage, Nora Thompson, Wyatt Copeland, Caroline DelaCourt, Anna Lynn, Allie Newcomb; brothers, Glenn Waters of Princeton, Dwight Waters and wife Rose of Princeton; sister, Joann Barbour, and several other family and friends.  

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed going to gospel singings at her church but most importantly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed but precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Princeton Cemetery with Reverend Andy Stovall officiating. A visitation will be held following the service at the cemetery.
