Fremont In Full Bloom Saturday

(GDN)–The annual Fremont Daffodil Festival is back for 2022 with fun, games, tons of food and the Keith Stewart Memorial Daffodil Dash.

The 5k race will run through the town of Fremont, also known as “The Daffodil Town” and is in honor of Keith Stewart, a long time leader of the Daffodil committee. Funds raised will go directly to benefit the Fremont community.

In 1958, Bugs Barriger, a writer for the News & Observer, penned Fremont, “The Daffodil Town” in an article about Fremont’s daffodil gardens. Several years later, the town began celebrating the arrival of spring and the blooming yellow flower by honoring it annually at “The Daffodil Festival.”

Events will begin at 10 AM with the featured performers The Embers taking the station at 12 noon. For a complete list of events and further information click here.
