(GDN) – On Saturday, March 19, 2022, at approximately 2:55 am, the Patetown Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire in the 4300 block of N.C. Highway 111 North.  When firefighters arrived, they found a vehicle on fire and the body of an unknown black male lying face down on the ground near the car.  The firefighters immediately called for EMS.  After EMS arrived, it was determined the male was deceased.  Police say the identity of the male is unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
