(GDN)-National Pi Day is celebrated every year on March 14th. Many restaurants and grocery stores say they have special deals on pizza pies and dessert pies. Store Manager Mike Minick, of the Harris Teeter in Goldsboro, says all cherry, apple and blueberry pies are only $3.14 cents each. He says the regular price is $7.99. National Pi Day ends tonight at 11:59 pm.

Pi, or π, is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. It is often shortened to 3.14 which is why 3/14 or March 14th is the official day to celebrate all things Pi…or Pie.
