Jerry Sewell Donahue, 74, of Goldsboro, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 at UNC Rex Health Care in Raleigh surrounded by his family. Jerry was born in Wayne County on February 5, 1948 to the late James Edward Donahue, Sr. and Ruth Sewell Donahue.

In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his brother, James Edward Donahue, Jr.

Jerry is survived by his ex-wife, Marjorie Ann Lee Donahue; daughter, Tessa Boyette and husband Mike; sons, Trevor Donahue and Troy Donahue, Sr.; grandchildren, Troy (Chad) Donahue Jr., Katie Donahue, Kelsey Donahue, Randal Donahue, Andrew Boyette, and Daniel Boyette; great-grandson, Easton Donahue, and several other family and friends.

Jerry was a loving daddy, Pepaw, brother, and friend. He was an avid Carolina fan, always cheering for his favorite team. Being the simple man he was, he enjoyed fishing, mowing grass on his John Deere tractor, and proudly flying his American flag. Most importantly, he loved to cook on his grill and spend time with his family and friends being sure that when leaving to go home, you had a Reese’s peanut butter cup in your pocket for the ride. He will be dearly missed but precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter and son-in-law on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM located at 303 Spence Street in La Grange, 28551.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Although flowers are welcome, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Jerry.
