(GDN)-Goldsboro Fire Department units were dispatched to a structure fire at 1700 S. Slocumb St., Lot #3 Monday morning at about 12:42. Engines 1, 2, 4, Tower 1, and Battalion 1 were dispatched and Engine 3 was called later for additional manpower. A total of six units with 16 personnel responded to the call.
Smoke detectors in the residence alerted the occupants to the fire.
After investigation, the cause of the fire was determined to be unintentional.
Two occupants were displaced and Red Cross was contacted. The fire was called “under control” at 12:54 a.m.
No other units were requested.
