Man Charged With Sex Offense/Kidnapping

On February 20, 2022, at approximately 9:10 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department’s Patrol Shift “C” responded to 1025 N. Spence Ave. for a report of a sexual assault. Officers made contact with the female juvenile victim who reported that she had been sexually assaulted by a known assailant. Patrol officers took the initial report and the case was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Unit’s Special Victims Investigator.

The suspect was identified and the investigation progressed. Probable cause was developed, and on March 2, a warrant was secured against Shi’kwan Mentrell Conner for one count of Second Degree Forcible Sex Offense and Second Degree Kidnapping. Mr. Conner arrested without incident by Goldsboro Police Department Warrants Officer at the magistrate’s office when Mr. Conner surrendered himself. Mr. Conner was served with his warrants and was transferred to the Wayne County Jail, where he was ordered to be held in lieu of a $75,000 secured bond.
