Driver Charged For High-Speed Crash That Killed One In January

(GDN) — An arrest has been made in a Wayne County traffic crash that left one person dead.  The State Highway Patrol Office in Wayne County says 19-year-old Donavan J. Granger of Goldsboro has been charged for the January 25th collision on NC 111 near Daw Pate Road.  Granger’s vehicle struck a vehicle driven by 65-year-old Linda Vaughn-Morris as she was pulling out from a stop sign.  Vaughn-Morris perished due to the crash, and Granger and an occupant in his vehicle were also seriously injured.  Granger is charged with:

  • Felony Death by Motor Vehicle
  • Felony Serious Injury
  • DWI
  • Provisional DWI
  • Careless and Reckless Driving
  • Speeding – 105 mph in a 45 mph Zone
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Granger was booked into the Wayne County Jail on Monday under a $250,000 secured bond.
