County’s COVID-19 Figures Continue Downward Trend

(GDN) – Once again, Wayne County’s number of new COVID cases is much improved week-over-week.

According to Thursday’s figures from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, 656 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Wayne County over the past two weeks.  Last week at this time, that number was at 1,134.  Wayne County has recorded 372 coronavirus-related deaths since the pandemic began.  That’s an additional five COVID deaths since this time last week.

2,711 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19 across North Carolina.  The state has now recorded over 22,000 coronavirus-related deaths.
