Sammy Harold Langston, 71, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at his home. Born in Sampson County on May 31, 1950, he was the son of the late Harry Lee and Betty Thornton Langston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Bailey Langston and his daughter, Toni Wallace.

Sammy is survived by his sons, Buster Langston and wife, Jeannie and Toby Langston and wife, April; grandchildren, Brittany Thomas, Tyler Sherbert, Zackary Langston, J.C. Langston, Rebecca Langston, and Justin Cooley; great-grandchildren, Madeline Thomas, Mabel Thomas, and Brewer Thomas; and a sister, Patricia Langston.

Sammy enjoyed his work as a lineman. He retired from Tri-County EMC after more than 30 years of dedicated service. Sammy enjoyed time spent at the beach or near any body of water with a fishing pole in hand. He loved to cut-up and was known as a jokester. Sammy was very convincing in his joking and pranks, nothing was better than to be able to string you along for as long as possible.

A graveside service to celebrate Sammy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Bill Cotton officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at Seymour Funeral Home.
