February 8, 2022, 84, Warsaw –

Ruth Montine James Outlaw, age 84, of near Warsaw, entered into final rest Tuesday Feb. 8, 2022 at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville.

Ruth was born May 11, 1937 in Gainesville, Georgia, to the late Dewey Thomas Orr & the late Willie Montine Thomas Orr. She was a homemaker but she & her first husband, the late Roy Kenneth James, owned and operated the J&O Variety Store in Gainesville. After the passing of Mr. James she married Atlas “Chicken” Outlaw, a Mount Olive man, and they made their home in the Bethel Church community, where they operated Outlaw’s Tax and Accounting Service.

Surviving are her daughters, Cindy James and Deborah McDonald, both of Warsaw; foster sons, George White & Homer White. A number of other family members also survive.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday Feb. 11, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville, Ga.

Arrangements are with Ward’s Funeral Home in Gainesville, with local arrangements being with Tyndall Funeral Home of Mount Olive.
