Martha Elizabeth Radford Hales, 81, of Goldsboro, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Kitty Askins Hospice facility in Goldsboro surrounded by her family. Martha was born in Wayne County on January 15, 1941 to the late James Melvin Radford and Gladys Kornegay.

In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Scarborough.

Martha is survived by her loving husband, John Neal Hales; daughter, Theresa Diane Howard of Goldsboro; son, John Duane Hales and wife Christine of Clayton; four grandchildren, Alexa Howard, Joseph Howard, John Mark Hales, Benjamin Hales; one great granddaughter, Abigail Hales; brothers, Robert Earl Radford, James Melvin Radford, Jr, and several other family and friends.

She will be dearly missed but precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
