Johnny Malcom Brown, 61, of Kenly, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Johnny was born in Johnston County on December 3, 1960 to the late Barney Malcom Brown, Jr. and Patricia Lorine Capps Cooper.

In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by his grandmother, (Memaw) Ola Brown, and brother Jeff Cooper.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Karen Hodge Brown; son, Joshua Malcom Brown of Kenly; daughters, Heather Brown Peele and husband Michael of Lucama, Laura Brown of Kenly; granddaughters, Brianna Brown, Alexus Brown, Sydney Peele; grandson, Raymond Brown, Jr.; sisters, Frances Annette Hall of Florida, Diane Cooper Tindall of South Carolina; brothers, Donald Cooper, Gary Cooper, Sandy Cooper of Kenly; special friend, Dale Perkins; four nieces, three nephews, and several other family and friends.

Johnny was a great mechanic. He never seen a car he didn’t like. He loved drag racing and hanging out at the track. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends including his kids, grandkids, and his four-legged side kick, Bella. He will be dearly missed but precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

The family would like to thank the SECU Hospice Facility and the Hospice Transition Team for the care, support, and comfort they provided to our family during this most difficult time.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel with Apostle Hattie Stancil officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations in Princeton.
