February 7, 2022, 67, Goldsboro –

James “Radar” Mathew Mitchell, 67, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 at his home.  Born in Wayne County, NC, he was the son of the late Zebedee and Alberta Barwick Mitchell. James was a member and former employee of Lane Tree Golf Course.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting as well.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating at the Mitchell Family Cemetery on Mitchell Road in Dudley, NC.  A time of visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

James is survived by his brothers, Jesse Franklin Mitchell & wife, Marjorie, Wilbert Mitchell & wife, Debbie, Jackie Mitchell and wife, Cathy, Danny B. Mitchell and Bobby Mitchell; his sisters, Brenda Mitchell Livingston & husband, Dennis and Margaret Mitchell.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph “Frank” Mitchell.

After the graveside services, the family will gather at the home of Linwood and Karen Mitchell, 626 Mitchell Road, Dudley, NC.
