Donna Sue Cherry, 42, of the Garner’s Chapel area of Mount Olive, passed away early Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022, at her home.

Donna was a graduate of North Duplin High School with the class of 1997. She had held various positions in employment, but perhaps her most fulfilling was that of being a dispatcher with Coastline Care and Johnson Ambulance Service.

She now joins in death, her parents, Kenneth “Shad” and Joyce Whitfield Cherry.

Donna is survived by two sisters and their husbands, Michelle C. and George Edwards of Mount Olive, and Kaye C. and Matt Harris of Shelby; a niece, Faith Harris of Shelby; two nephews, Andrew Harris of Shelby, and Michael Wayne Edwards of Mount Olive. Donna is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as her beloved dog and cats.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, February 13, at 2 p.m. at the Whitfield Family Cemetery. Friends and relatives are being welcomed to the home of George and Michelle Edwards (the former home of Kenneth and Joyce Cherry).
