(GDN) — There was no shortage of smiles at Friday afternoon’s ‘Night to Shine Parade” at The First Church in Goldsboro. Community members lined up to make the day memorable for the honored guests taking part in the “Night to Shine” event. The special needs individuals started arriving at The First Church dressed to the nines ahead of their virtual prom Friday evening. They were then cheered on as they were escorted by vehicle, fire truck, float, and horse-drawn carriage around the church grounds during the parade. A DJ was on hand to keep the party going. The First Church and First Baptist Church teamed up for this year’s local Night to Shine event. An initiative of the Tim Tebow Foundation, Night to Shine offers special needs individuals around the world a chance to attend their very own prom.
