Restoration Of Hope Village Will Aid Area Homeless Veterans

Restoration Of Hope Village Will Aid Area Homeless Veterans

(GDN) — Work is underway on a new community that will assist our homeless veterans.

With a planned location near the south gate of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, the Restoration of Hope Village will provide housing and help for homeless veterans in Wayne County.

Thomas Rice, the Executive Director of MLFL, Inc., says the tiny house community will offer shelter as well as medical and mental health services for homeless veterans.

Rice says the homeless issue in Wayne County is greater than many people realize.

He says their “Scrapping for the Homeless” campaign will help raise funds for the Restoration of Hope Village.

Rice encourages businesses, farmers and individuals to donate items that the veterans can sort.

The sorted items will be recycled and sold to help raise funds for the Restoration of Hope Village.

Also, the project will help provide the homeless veterans with some spending money.
