Mary Josephine Woodard Daughtry, 80, passed away surrounded by her family at Countryside Assisted Living in Pikeville on Saturday, February 5, 2022. Born in Wayne County on September 13, 1941 she was the daughter of the late Milton Woodard and Mary Johnson Woodard and was married to the late Needham David Daughtry.

Faith in Jesus was of the utmost importance in Josephine’s life. In her earlier years, she taught Sunday School and played piano for many churches where she worshipped.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Josephine is survived by her children, Randy Daughtry and wife, Melissa, and Wanda Whitfield; grandchildren, Kelli Chandler and husband, Tyler, Craig Daughtry and wife, Brittany, Brooke Parks and husband, Jacob; great-grandchildren, Parker, Nathan, and Peyton. Josephine is also survived by her brother, Charles Woodard of Apex.

In addition to her parents and husband, Josephine was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Woodard and sister, Dorothy Keel.
