Linda Faye Stevens Head, 73, departed her earthly life and entered paradise on Friday, January 28, 2022 while being lovingly cared for at her home. Linda was born in Wayne County to the late Ronald Earl Stevens and Mary Lou Price Stevens on February 19, 1948.
Linda’s life revolved around her family. Every moment spent with her children and grandchildren was cherished. A member of Selah Christian Church, she was dedicated to her church family and served her Lord through her prayers, gifts, service, and Christian witness. As long as she was able, you could expect to find her in church.
Other than her love of her Lord and her family, Linda also had a great love for reading. No matter the book, you could rest assured she could have a good time escaping into the story of the book she was reading. Linda always enjoyed the gift of music and the opportunity to play the piano.
While our hearts are broken at her departure, we know her reunion with family was a glorious one. The family finds peace and comfort knowing that Linda has victoriously won her 35 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis and has been completely healed.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Linda’s life at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Patrick Muston officiating. Interment will be in Falling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Linda is survived by her husband, Eugene Miller Head. Gene tirelessly devoted himself as Linda’s daily caregiver for many years – she was his world and the love of his life.
Linda is also survived by her daughter, Mindi Schedel and husband, Jeffrey of Apex; step-daughter, Kimberly H. Glass of Wilmington; step-son, Robert Keith Head of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Lillian Ayscue and Elizabeth Schedel; and her brother, Bobby Ray Stevens and wife Sylvia of Goldsboro.
