Larry Stephen VanKuren, 81, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Binghamton, New York on March 30, 1940, he was the son of the late Stephen and Nina Rousboch VanKuren.

Larry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bobbie Grady VanKuren; sister, JoAnn V. Nolan (Edward) of Kirkwood, NY; sisters-in-law, Virginia Grady Millard and Anna Best Grady; and several nieces and nephews.

Larry proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked in the banking industry in Norfolk, Virginia for over thirty years. His work brought him much enjoyment with the business relationships he cultivated over the years. Larry enjoyed the simple things in life, electronics, ham radio, and clocks. Each Sunday he could be found at home winding his clocks up for the upcoming week. Larry was a member of La Grange Christian Church.

A graveside service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Gerald Stacey officiating. The family respectfully requests those attending the service wear a face covering and practice proper social distancing guidelines.
