Geraldine Bunn Coats, 84, departed for her Heavenly home on Friday, January 28, 2022. Geraldine was born in Johnston County to the late Henry D. Bunn and Elma Frances Langston Bunn on February 3, 1937. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Coats; granddaughter, Apryl Nicole Smith; four brothers and one sister.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Geraldine took great effort to care for her family. Being “Grandma” to her grandchildren was one of the ultimate joys of life, for each was the apple of her eye.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at 306 Brantwood Drive, Goldsboro. A service to celebrate Geraldine’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Charlene Smith of Goldsboro; grandson, Josh Smith and wife, Karrie; and her brother, Ray Bunn.
